I am a Canadian Metis woman, born and raised in both the wilderness of northern Manitoba and the city of Winnipeg. A profound love—and insatiable curiosity—about the natural world have shaped my entire life thus far.
I enjoy many hobbies and interests, all of which are related in some way to plants, animals, nature, and sustainable living. My passions include hiking, cross country skiing, canoeing, bird-watching, organic gardening, foraging for wild plants and fungi, making herbal medicine, cooking, preserving, fermenting, self-sufficiency, reading, writing, and photography. I share my life with my partner, our 4-year old son, five Nigerian Dwarf goats, 28 chickens (I love them all equally), three rabbits, and our dog, Lucy. We live in a cabin on a lake in central Alberta. Our property backs onto 150 acres of protected land.
